Brentwood School opened its doors last Friday evening, welcoming a large crowd of Fine Arts supporters for , “Springtime in Tuscany~ An Evening of Fine Arts”.  The Brentwood Activities Building was filled with Art I and Art II selected pieces, displayed around the beautifully decorated area on easels.  The entire building was decorated with the Tuscan theme in mind. Hints of flowers, dried pasta, and pottery topped tables with lush greenery and candles throughout.  Guests dined on a delicious meal catered by Michelle Story as Taylor Everett took the stage and began the program for the evening.

Kirstan Smith performed “Sonatina in C Major, Op. 55, No. 1”- Kuhlau. She won first place for this piano piece at State Competition this year.

Annabeth Tarbutton soothed us with “Winter Memories”- Bober.  She made us think of everything we did as children in the winter. Beautifully executed!

“Evensong”- Lehmann was sung by Junior Brynn Taylor.  With a lovely soprano, she did the classic tune justice. Well done. Brynn placed third at Region Competition this year.

Ellie Atkinson played the song, “Sandcastles”- Duncan  on the piano. Ellie made us feel as if we have our feet in the sand and on vacation at the beach.  Super job!

Super job!

Mrs. Robin Middleton’s dancers, Lydia Diaz, Katy Hodges, Avery Phillips, and Callie Wallace, danced next to the song, “Young and Beautiful”- Somo.

In preparation for the final act, the program inserted a “flashback” to Brentwood School’s One Act Play, “Second Samuel”.  Taylor Everett recaps the story and how it had won Region and State first place awards this year, and B- Flat, the main character.  Suddenly, out walks Wynn Andrews (BFlat) in full costume where he proceeds to have a conversation with Taylor and offer him some of his Baby Ruth candy bar.  B- Flat is joined by Drew Wilson ,(June) One Act Coroner  on stage for a scene similar to that of the play.
