2018 May GCWC Chamber E-Newsletter

Notes from your Chamber Team.

Thanks to everyone for a great month! At the beginning of April, we had our Winter Bowling League Banquet at Old Mill Brew Pub. A good time was had by all and pictures of the banquet and bowling league are available here. The 2018 Golf Tournament turned out to be great day and we really set the course on fire, some more than others. Thanks to City Roots for hosting a tour of the Midlands Urban Farm. We had fifteen members attend and all seemed to enjoy the experience. For our April Breakfast, we were hosted by the Columbia Metropolitan Airport and featured Central Carolina Community Foundation to kick off Midlands Gives Day. We also ventured across the river for a ribbon cutting with Fish Window Cleaning a new division of Goodwill Industries.

Special thanks to the Lexington Rotary Club for allowing me to speak at their weekly breakfast. Always happy to talk about our Chamber. Rotary Club info here.

This months details are in the newsletter...Chamber Breakfast, Rhythm on the River, Speed Networking, SC Small Business Development Center class and Summer League Bowling registration. We hope to see you there.

Thanks for all of your support. I would also like to thank you for reading our newsletter. This month, I've added a couple of opportunities that for a limited time can be only be registered through the newsletter. I'm hoping this will increase the number of members that read the newsletter. Thanks!

Richard and Cory

CHAMBER TEAM WANTS TO VISIT YOUR BUSINESS.

As many of you know, I'm in the process of seeing as many Chamber Members in their businesses as possible. In the first ninety days, I have had over 75 visits. These visits are an important way for me to learn about your business and what the Chamber can do for you. These visits have ranged from sit down discussions with a Chamber Member about their industry, the type leads they need from the Chamber or a tour of the business. We can mold this meeting to fit your needs. I have set aside 45 minutes to an hour for each meeting but this can be adjusted either way as needed.

I've listed some available times in the month of May. If interested, please sign up for the available meeting times listed in  the packages.

Free Networking started by Chamber Member

One of our members, Brandon Powell, has started a free networking event for young professionals called BREWING UP BUSINESS. This monthly networking opportunity is held at a local craft brewery or tap room. I paid them a visit and it was great opportunity to meet new people. This month's BREWING UP BUSINESS will be held at Columbia Craft on Thursday, May 24th at 5:30 PM. More info here.
