Please join us in our first "Before Hours" event. This member event will be held from 7:30 AM - 8:20 AM at Dynamic Health & Fitness club. Mackenzie Long will coach us through a 30 minute Kettlebell class and speak about the importance of corporate wellness while we dine on a light breakfast. Showers and locker rooms will be available to you during your visit.  This will be a workout event from 7:30 AM - 8 AM. This month, our Speed Networking event will be Friday, June 22nd from 8 AM to 9 AM. This event will be held at the GCWC Chamber office with coffee and doughnuts provided. Space will be limited to 20 participants. THANK YOU for reading the newsletter, space can only be reserved form this newsletter link until close of business on  Wednesday 6/6. Thursday morning the event registration will appear on the Chamber's website and calendar.

As many of you know, I'm in the process of seeing as many Chamber Members in their businesses as possible. These visits are an important way for me to learn about your business and what the Chamber can do for you. These visits have ranged from sit down discussions with a Chamber Member about their industry, the type leads they need from the Chamber or a tour of the business. We can mold this meeting to fit your needs. I have set aside 45 minutes to an hour for each meeting but this can be adjusted either way as needed.

Register for the first Lunch and Learn Steps to Great Networking. I hope this will be an ongoing series that will help our Chamber Members improve their networking skills. When we have Lunch and Learn availability I will choose a a networking subject that will hopefully help us hone our networking skills. I will invite a Chamber Member or area business leader to speak on that particular subject.

This month in our Lunch and Learn Steps to Great Networking we will discuss THE ELEVATOR PITCH. Do you have a Elevator Pitch that you use regularly? Need help in creating one? Do you know the purpose of an Elevator Pitch?

An elevator speech is a clear, brief message or “commercial” about you. It communicates who you are, what you’re looking for and how you can benefit a company or organization. It’s typically about 30 seconds, the time it takes people to ride from the top to the bottom of a building in an elevator. (The idea behind having an elevator speech is that you are prepared to share this information with anyone, at anytime, even in an elevator.)



This month, I have asked Chamber Member Daniel Andrews with Network in Action to lead our Lunch and Learn. We will start the class with a general outline of the needs and purpose of The Elevator Pitch. We will have time to partner up and practice your Elevator Pitch. At the end, we will have an "open mic" for those that want to test there Elevator Pitch in front of the group. For those that participate in the "open mic" opportunity, we will choose a Best Elevator Pitch. That person and their business will be featured in the Chamber July Newsletter.
