John Channon’s Bio

Small business is the backbone of a healthy economy, generating over 45% of private sector output and over 60% of net new private sector jobs, yet only 50% of small businesses survive the first 5 years.  John Channon is a Certified Business Coach, Business Survival Specialist and Business Improvement Expert focused on working with business owners interested in beating these odds and thriving in today’s markets.

To beat the odds and be the best business in your sector you need someone with experience, someone with an unbiased interest in your success, someone with a proven process and successful track record, someone to motivate you and someone to be accountable to for that success.

John worked in corporate America for over 25 years in the Specialty Chemicals Industry, starting in the laboratory as a Technician, then ultimately rising into Leadership positions in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Business Management and Strategic Planning.  He has worked for Reichhold Chemicals, the Dow Chemical Company, Rohm and Hass Company and H.B. Fuller Company. He is currently the owner of a Business Coaching franchise, FocalPoint Business Coaching in the Twin Cities, where he works with private businesses between $5 - $150 million in annual revenues. His 25 years of experiences combined with the Certified Training and extensive tool kit of FocalPoint Business Coaching, as Powered by Brian Tracy, create the platform for Business Owners and their teams to fully achieve their goals and become sustainable businesses.

In addition to Business Coaching, John is active in giving back to the local community with his time, his expertise and his financial success. He is an active member of the local Rotary Club of White Bear Lake MN. He gives his time as a volunteer mentor for St. Paul SCORE, a not-for-profit that provides mentor resources and tools for the Entrepreneur just getting started without much cash flow. He is also a volunteer for BestPrep, a not-for-profit organization that helps to prepare Minnesota students with business, career and financial literacy skills through experiential learning programs.
