Annual Purse Drive

 
Solid Ground prevents and ends homelessness for families with children through housing, resources and opportunity.  Offering housing and support for families who have experienced homelessness in suburban Ramsey and Washington Counties.

It is through a gift of a new handbag, filled with various items, that we reach out to the women who live at Solid Ground.
 
If you would like to donate a new handbag, or stuff to put in them, we will be accepting items until November 15th at the Chamber office.  Handbags should be new and “mom sized”.  All of the women residing at Solid Ground have 1 to 3 children, so having a large purse is helpful.  To be sure each mom receives the gift of a new handbag, we need at least 40.

Items needed to fill the purses can include (40 of each):  Hand lotion, gum, crayons, pens, notepads, gift cards, gloves, mittens, scarves, nail polish, makeup, mints, band-aids, dental floss, toothbrush, hair brush, combs, perfume, pocket tissues, key fobs, etc., the list is endless. 

The purses will be filled at the Women In Business holiday meeting, then brought to Solid Ground for distribution at their annual holiday dinner.
