Government & Public Affairs - April 18th

Bill Blazer and Maura Donovan are conducting a series of community forums with business groups to both build awareness and forge strategies to meet future workforce needs through rational immigration policies.

There is no question that we face a shortage of qualified employees to fill the gaps left by retiring baby boomers. White Bear Lake and surrounding communities have not attracted enough younger employees to keep up with our workforce demands. At our Government Affairs program for April, we will discuss how a rational immigration policy can meet the needs of our employers.

Topics of discussion:

•    Strategies to recruit immigrants to our community that will meet our workforce needs.
•    Legislation that will encourage rational immigration policies on the state and national level.
•    What other communities in Minnesota have done to find immigrants to fill workforce needs.
•    The role of public and private schools in building a vibrant immigrant community.

There is no charge to attend this event and a continental breakfast will be served. Seating is limited and please register HERE
