1991 Kitchen is Now Open at Grand Casino Mille Lacs!

Onamia, Minn. – Grand Casino Mille Lacs unveiled its latest guest amenity as a part of the Grand Casino renovation project on Tuesday, September 5 – a new 6,000 sq. ft., 260-seat, sit-down casual dining restaurant called 1991 Kitchen. 

1991 was a pivotal year. The Minnesota Twins won the World Series, Michael Jordan was named the NBA’s MVP for a second time, and the World Wide Web became a publicly available service. While those are all notable events, there is another historical event that happened in 1991 that would forever change the landscape of Central Minnesota – Grand Casino Mille Lacs opened its doors to the public on April 5. 

This restaurant is aptly named after the casino’s inaugural year. Situated on the northwest side of the casino, the restaurant’s contemporary atmosphere meets rustic charm with design features that combine exposed brick, pewter fixtures, wood accents and eclectic décor.

Upon entering the space, Guests are met with a mural of old photos from the early days. While the mural will certainly leave people feeling nostalgic, the contemporary vibe will bring them back to 2017. 

The restaurant, which takes the place of the former Grand Northern Grill, will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu has received an upgrade as well, and features Grand Casino classics such as Country Breakfast, Country Fried Steak, Shore Lunch Walleye, Chinese Chicken Salad and Marge’s Wild Rice Soup, as well as some soon-to-be favorites like Wild Rice Hash, Loaded Waffle, Barbecued Turkey Tenderloin, Short Rib Melt and Stuffed Meatballs and Spaghetti. 

1991 Kitchen is open daily at 7 a.m. It closes at 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Specials are offered every Friday (BBQ Pork Ribs), Saturday (Prime Rib) and Sunday (all-you-care-to-eat Shrimp) beginning at 4 p.m. Breakfast entrees range from $5 - $13; lunch and dinner entrees range from $8 - $28.

1991 Kitchen is the latest property improvement to come online as a part of Grand Casino’s exciting revitalization project to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Other property improvements already completed at Grand Casino Hinckley include a new and improved gaming floor, the Stories Diner and a new hotel swimming pool area. Grand Casino Mille Lacs also features an updated gaming floor, as well as the Brand Burger Bar and the all-new Jukebox (Associate Dining Room).
