Open for Business!

Beginning immediately, restaurants and coffee shops may:

  • Temporarily place signage on their private property.
  • Message examples are Open, Drive Up Open, Pick Up Only Inside, Drive Through Open, (Drive Thru Open), Curbside Service, Pick Up Area or any similar language as well as the hours of such service.
  • For those businesses located Downtown, the signs must be within the sidewalk area.
  • Signs may not be placed on public rights of way; grassy areas, highways, side streets, etc..
  • The signage must be no larger than 3 ft. X 2 ft., (6 feet total in size) can be sandwich board, a realtor type sign and may have a message on both sides.
  • May have 1 sign per entrance but no more than 2 of the above signs total.
  • If you have a permanent menu board outside at a drive up, you may also place a few small signs where the cars queue which directs them to visit your website menu to speed ordering.
  • There are no fees or assessments for temporary sign placement.

In appreciation of the City's accommodations, we ask that you keep your signs professional and tasteful as we do not want to compromise the integrity of the beautiful City of White Bear Lake.
