Great news! Governor Walz's announcement today allows for more reopenings and expanded capacity guidelines for businesses and individuals starting June 10. Here is a quick summary of the announcement: 

  • Outdoor gatherings of friends and family of 25 people or less; indoor gatherings of 10 people or less
  • Retailers continue at 50 percent occupancy with former guidelines.
  • Restaurants and bars for indoor at 50% capacity, cannot exceed 250 people in a single self-contained space, with former guidelines like masks and reservations required.
  • Personal services like salons, tattoo parlors and barbershops at 50% capacity, cannot exceed 250 people in a single self-contained space, with former guidelines like masks and appointments required.
  • Gyms, personal fitness and yoga studios for both indoor at outdoor use at 25% capacity.
  • Seated indoor entertainment like movies, concert halls, bowling, arcades, museums, and theaters at 25% capacity, cannot exceed 250 people in a self-contained space.
  • Pools at 50% capacity and maintain social distancing.
  • Outdoor event and entertainments settings, like sporting events, concerts, and theaters, cannot exceed 250 people in a single self-contained space, and must continue to follow social distancing guidelines, maintain social distancing, and strongly recommend masks be worn.
  • All businesses must have a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan in order to reopen.
  • Beginning on June 29, all "critical businesses" (those that remained open throughout the executive orders) must also have a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. Further guidance coming by June 15.

With the openings, your employees and customers must practice social distancing and all businesses must have a preparedness plan in place by June 29. There will be more details and guidelines published by June 15.
