White Bear’s Notorious Gangsters – the Sequel

The White Bear area was a haven for the 1920s and ‘30s era gangsters who wanted to get away from it all. Join us to hear the tales of infamous visitors such as Ma Barker, Alvin “Creepy” Karpis and Baby Face Nelson.  Program updated with stories shared by local residents since the first edition was offered last year.
FREE event but donations are welcome.  Presented by the White Bear Lake Area Historical Society.

Holiday Tours at the Historic Fillebrown House

Experience the magic of the Fillebrown House decked out in all its holiday splendor. Knowledgeable guides will amuse you with stories of the Fillebrown family and the lakeside cottage they called home while holiday treats tantalize your taste buds and the sounds of Christmas ring out from Helen Fillebrown’s 1868 Steinway Grand Piano.  Open for public tours one day only!
$5 Adults, $3 12 & under, WBLAHS members free

Children’s Story Time at the Fillebrown House
December 12th or 13th, 6 – 7 pm
4735 Lake Ave, White Bear Lake

Children are invited to the Fillebrown House to sit by the magnificently decorated Christmas tree and listen to holiday poems and stories.  Hot or cold cider and cookies will be served. Children are welcome to wear their pajamas if they wish.  Due to the popularity of this program, reservations are required:  White Bear Lake Area Historical Society - 651-407-5327  $2 per person.
