Don't Skirt the Issue-HELP!-Saturday, October 29th

A Benefit for Zepf Center-Recovery Housing for Mothers

In Northwest Ohio, heroin and opioid deaths are skyrocketing. The situation right in our own community is among the worst in the United States with nearly 300 deaths expected this year due to overdoses. This crisis is affecting people across all ages, ethnicities, and classes; it does not discriminate.

There is a severe shortage of resources in Northwest Ohio to beat this epidemic. That is why the Help with Heroin campaign, along with Zepf Center, is launching a major fundraiser “Don’t Skirt the Issue – Help” on Saturday, October 29th. All proceeds will go towards developing housing specifically for mothers, allowing them to continue working on their recovery without having to be separated from their children, which is the #1 reason why women leave treatment.

“Don’t Skirt the Issue – Help” will be an evening of music, friends and fun! The event will take place at Maumee Bay Brewing Company and feature a fashion show, live auction, and food from area restaurants.

We are asking women to wear their favorite skirts that tell a “story” and relive the memories that wearing it brings back to them. Men are also welcome to wear their favorite skirts, however if you seemed to have misplaced it, your favorite shirt will do!

We ask you to join us, for the fight requires us all!

6pm | Saturday | October 29

Whitehouse Trick-or-Treat - October 31, 2016
The Village of Whitehouse will be filled with little ghosts and goblins on Monday, October 31, 2016, from 6 to 8 pm for trick-or-treating.
The downtown district will be bustling with activities as businesses along Providence Street will stay open late to offer treats to our little residents.  The Whitehouse Fire and Police Department will offer treats and have trucks, cars, and other equipment on display in the plaza near the Wabash Cannonball Bike Trail.
Again this year, the Whitehouse Historical Society will open the log house for tours.  Families are invited to enjoy an after dark experience in the historic log home!
Remember to turn on your porch lights and drive slowly through neighborhoods to help make this a safe and fun Halloween for everyone!
