About Us
In 1995 Bob and Laurie Manley along with their partner Bruce Dean opened the first Black Bear Diner on the site of the old strawberry patches near Mt. Shasta. The family of restaurants called Black Bear Diner is growing monthly. Each Diner is dedicated to the same simple concepts of quality and service that made the original Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta famous.
Today's Three Bears, left to right, are "Worry bear" Dave Doty, "Papa Bear" Bob Manley, and "Sugar Bear" Bruce Dean. Below, meet some of the other friendly faces in the Black Bear crew.
The secret to Black Bear Diner's black "beary" cobbler is more than just special ingredients. Tucked away in the Mount Shasta Diner is the source of the cobbler's appealing taste - prep cook and cobbler creator, Maria Garcia.
