About Us

John Valletta, a 30-year hospitality industry veteran, was named president & chief executive officer of Super 8 Motels Inc. in August 2002. His responsibilities include the growth and performance of the Super 8 chain through strategic brand operations, property openings, design and development, franchise services, quality assurance, training, development financing and marketing.

He had served as president & chief executive officer of Travelodge Hotels Inc. since February 2002. Prior to joining Travelodge, Valletta served Prime Hospitality Corp. of Fairfield, N.J., as senior vice president of operations for its Wellesley Inns & Suites chain. He served La Quinta Inns Inc. of Dallas as vice president of operations for its Midwest Region from 1999 to 2000 and regional manager from 1993 to 1999. He earned LaQuinta’s Regional Manager of the Year award in 1998 for “outstanding achievement” in operations,team building and leadership. From 1992 to 1993 he was Northeast area manager for the Motel 6 brand of Accor Lodging North America,Dallas.
