SUMMARY:Exclusive Film Screening: How to Poison a Planet
LOCATION:Whiteside Theatre, 361 SW Madison Ave, Corvallis, OR, 97333
DESCRIPTION:Exclusive Film Screening: How to Poison a Planet\n\n02/05/26 06:30 PM PST\n - 02/05/26 09:00 PM PST\Description:\nPresented by the College of Engineering and the Clean Water Technology Initiative\n\nAcross the globe, access to clean water is threatened by population growth, climate change, industrial and agricultural pollution, and other pressures. Join us for an exclusive film screening of the award-winning documentary How to Poison a Planet, followed by a panel discussion with field experts and stakeholders. \n\nThis groundbreaking film examines the use and spread of PFAS and other fluorinated compounds — human-made "forever chemicals" that never break down and now contaminate waterways, farmland, and communities worldwide, including the drinking water of 200 million Americans.\n\nWith behind-the-scenes access to the largest litigation involving drinking water in American history, How to Poison a Planet investigates how the use of a product as seemingly harmless as firefighting foam, has resulted in the contamination of communities all over the world. Spanning from the heart of New York City to a small First Nations community in Australia, the film exposes one of the most widespread environmental disasters in human history.\n\nThis film is not rated, but recommended for those ages 15+ due to mature content.\n\Details:\nSchedule:\n\n\n	6:30 p.m. – Doors open, concessions available\n	7 p.m. – Film screening begins\n	8:20 p.m. – Post-film discussion with a panel of experts\n	9 p.m. – Event concludes\n\n\n \n\nTickets are on a first-registered, first-served basis.
