LOCATION:Mendocino National Forest - West Crockett Trailhead, Willows, CA, 95988
DESCRIPTION:National Trails Day - Snow Mountain Wilderness Waterfall Hike\n\n06/05/26 10:30 AM PST\n - 06/05/26 03:30 PM PST\Description:\nMendocino National Forest invites the public to participate in upcoming National Trails Day events across the forest to celebrate trails and promote trail stewardship. \n\nNational Trails Day was established by the American Hiking Society in 1993 and occurs annually on the first Saturday in June. To caravan with staff, meet at 8:00am at the Supervisor’s Office in Willows. \n\n \n\Details:\nWest crocket trail to the Waterfall connector trail is a down and back trail, approximately 2.5 miles one way (5 mi total). The trail is on native soil and uneven ground with some natural obstacles and a small section of steep trail/switchbacks but most of the trail has little elevation gain. Please bring your own food, water, wear appropriate footwear, and if you would like to join in some light trail maintenance activities, including crosscut saw demonstration, please bring a long sleeve shirt and any PPE that you have. If you don't have any PPE, some may be be provided. This hike is intended to be a fun way to introduce people to the beauty of the Snow Mountain Wilderness, stewardship, and to have lunch near a scenic waterfall. Some folks may choose to engage in light trail maintenance but it is not the primary objective of the hike so there is no expectation of volunteer work.\n\nDirections\n\nAttendees can drive directly to West Crocket Trailhead if comfortable driving there alone, arrive around 10:30am.
