Details:Jim and Phil Iversen's presentation will focus on the science and measurements of climate change, using carbon dioxide and temperature data collected from polar ice core samples. These data, along with contemporary measurements, provides compelling evidence that both the concentration of carbon dioxide and global average temperature have been rising at an increasing rate since the 1950's, and that today's levels of CO2 and global temperature are higher than that at any time going back through the last four ice ages.
Philip Iversen is a statistician and senior research advisor at Eli Lilly and Company. He is also an adjunct faculty of the Luther College mathematics department and a member of the American Statistical Association and the Mathematical Association of America.
Jim Iversen is a professor emeritus of aerospace engineering at Iowa State University. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and served as a member of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
