Luther College Woman's Club January Meeting
Simulation is a common component of quality nursing programs and one key way that Luther College prepares its nursing students for actual patient care. Learn how Luther uses simulation to educate future nurses during the next meeting of the Luther College Woman’s Club (LCWC).
Angela Kueny, Luther College associate professor of nursing, will present “Luther Nurses Simulation Learning” at the group’s January meeting, to be held Tuesday, January 15, at 1:30 p.m. in Peace Dining Room, Dahl Centennial Union, on the Luther campus. All women from Decorah and surrounding communities are invited to attend. Shuttle service from the Decorah Swimming Pool is available and leaves at 1:10 p.m. In addition to the program, a short business meeting, refreshments, and special music by Luther faculty or students are on the afternoon’s agenda.
During the meeting, Kueny will provide an overview of Luther’s simulation laboratory and the simulation techniques employed across the nursing curriculum. She will discuss how stimulation positively impacts nursing education, using examples that highlight practice and advocacy for women’s health. Kueny will then lead a tour of the Luther nursing department’s simulation laboratory and demonstrate some of the equipment if weather permits.
