Event Description
Join us for the Alabama Writers Symposium, celebrating 22 years in Monroeville, the Literary Capital of Alabama. Two days of author readings, book talks, poetry, and more kick off on Thursday, April 25 in the Old Monroe County Courthouse and stay late for a showing of Big Fish with Harper Lee Award winner Daniel Wallace. Other featured authors include Truman Capote Prize winner B.J. Hollars, Eugene Current-Garcia Award winner Dr. Christopher Metress, Tina Braziel, Lauren K. Denton, Frye Gaillard, Ashley M. Jones, Philip Shirley, and Lila Quintero Weaver. All general sessions and workshops, plus the showing of Big Fish are free and open to the public.
