Details:2019 CHESTER-LAKE ALMANOR MUSEUM HISTORY NIGHT SCHEDULE:
 
May 16-- the Olsen and Martin family creates the town of Chester
 
May 30--Chester in the 1920’s and 30’s--“Little Reno” with loggers and cowboys.
 
June 13—Chester becomes “Progressive” in the 1940’s and 50’s with the influence of Collins Pine, 6:30-8:30 at the Collins Pine Museum
 
June 27—Our native Californians, the Maidu people and their culture
 
July 11—The Gold Rush in northern Plumas County, the discovery of gold and gold mining, and the founding of Seneca Township
 
July 25—The settlement of Big Meadows in the 1850’s and 60’s with the Hamilton, Holmes, and Bidwell families
 
August 8—the Benners and Pratts and founding of Prattville, the social and economic Center of Big Meadows.
 
August 22—Tourism and resorts, with the Bunnell, Lee, Butterfield, and Costar families
 
September 5—Northern Big Meadows and the Johnson, Stover, Olsen, and Martin families, the roots of Chester
 
September 19--Great Western Power Company and the creation of Lake Almanor
  
*Other than the June 13th meeting, all meetings will be held Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Chester Memorial Hall
