Vesterheim's Barnetimen (Children's Hour) To Set Sail on a New Season
Community Event Holiday Events Tourism
Preschoolers and their caregivers are invited to Barnetimen (Children’s Hour) at Vesterheim, the national Norwegian-American museum and heritage center.
“This month, we’ll use patterns on warm Norwegian sweaters and mittens to inspire our own decorations on festive ornaments to take home,” Jennifer Kovarik, Vesterheim Youth Educator, said. “We’ll also enjoy a tasty holiday snack,” she added. Meet in the lobby of the museum’s Main Building.
The program is free, thanks to sponsors David and Brenda Carlson, Greg and Karen Bruening, Amy and Keith Bruening, and Norwegian Mutual Insurance Association.
Meet in the museum at 520 W. Water St. to explore objects and exhibits, and then make art inspired by the museum visit. A snack is also provided.
Barnetimen meets at Vesterheim Museum the third Tuesday of each month, September-April. The program is geared toward 3-5 year olds, but all ages are welcome. No sign-up is necessary—come to one session or all of them.
