WHAT Help prevent pollution in Lake Almanor or Indian Creek  by joining the Lake Almanor Watershed Group and Sierra Institute for Community and Environment as they host the 10th annual Great Sierra River Cleanup. Come and be part of the solution by helping pick up trash and recyclables along the river. Meet your neighbors and friends and join us as we help protect the local environment.

WHY: The Great Sierra Cleanup will remove tons of trash that would otherwise flow down to the coast and end up at the beach. On its way, this trash pollutes our local creeks and rivers and threatens the health of wildlife and the environment.

The Great Sierra River Cleanup is about much more than picking up trash. It’s a day for Sierra communities – and those from all over California – to demonstrate their desire for clean water and healthy rivers.

It’s an opportunity to learn about California’s water source and it’s a time to come together with your families, your neighbors, your community, and your friends to accomplish something vital and worthy on behalf of our great Sierra rivers.

WHEN: September 21st 9:00 to Noon
