. Evenrud will talk about THE TYLER FAMILY BAND, a group that played for dances locally in the late 1920s, ‘30s, and ‘40s. His close connections to the members of the band include his mother, Edith Tyler Evenrud, and her three brothers, Leonard, Spencer, and Ralph, and their father, Burt Tyler.
The family lived in the Clay Hill neighborhood north of Decorah. In addition to farming, they regularly took their music to local dance halls, including the popular Matter’s Ball Room. Evenrud will talk about his mission to sort out and piece together the story surrounding the Tyler Family Band. He will share their stories and the history surrounding this musical family.
