Event Description
A limited version of summer camps will be offered by the Shelby County Conservation Board beginning at the end of July. These camps will be limited to eight kids and will only involve activities where kids can social distance and any equipment used will be easily disinfected. All activities will be completely outside. The activities will only be two hours in length except for river kayaking. The river kayaking will be for three hours. Kids that want to river kayak must either attend one of the other kayaking sessions at Manteno or Nishna Bend or have attended kayaking camp in a previous year. These camps will be located at different parks and will completely free this year. Preregistration will be required. You can call Christina at 744-3403 to sign up beginning immediately.

July 20 at Manteno Park: 9 a.m to 11 a.m. fly fishing for 9 through 14 year olds
12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Kayaking for 12 through 16 year olds
July 22 at Nishna Bend: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. fly fishing for 9 through 14 year olds
12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Aquatic and insect netting for 5 to 8 year olds
July 27 at Nishna Bend: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Kayaking for 12 through 16 year olds
12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Canoeing for 11 through 16 year olds
August 11: 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. River kayaking (parents will drop off kids in Harlan and pick kids up at Nishna Bend). For 12 to 16 year olds. Prior experience required.
August 11 at Oakridge (on F58 halfway between Corley and M47) 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Hike and creek stop for 5 to 11 year olds.
August 17 at Nishna Bend. 9:00 to 11 a.m. Fishing for 8 through 11 year olds.
August 17: Noon to 3:00 p.m. River kayaking (parents will drop off kids in Harlan and pick kids up at Nishna Bend). For 12 through 16 year olds. Prior experience required.
