Ulysses S. Grant graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in June 1843. He and his classmates could have never anticipated their future roles in shaping American history the day they graduated. Of the thirty-nine West Point cadets, four died in the Mexican-American War. Fifteen became Union Generals during the Civil War. Ranger Ashton will talk about Grant’s time at West Point and the accomplishments of some of his fellow classmates.
