Our Lady of Guadalupe Diocesan Celebration at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns

Event Description

St. Patrick of Heatherdowns, 4201 Heatherdowns Boulevard, is honored to host this year's annual Our Lady of Guadalupe Diocesan Celebration on Saturday, December 9th, 2023 with the Most Reverend Bishop Daniel Thomas celebrating the Mass. This day-long event will take place from 8:45AM-3PM and the entire community is invited to celebrate.

 

Here is a rundown of the day’s events:

  • 8:45AM:   Serenade to Our Lady of Guadalupe

  • 9:00AM:   Pastries/Coffee/Hot Chocolate in the cafeteria (social hour) 

  • 10:00AM: Bilingual Rosary (Spanish/English) 

  • 10:30AM: El Corazon de Mexico dancers

  • 11:00AM: Procession of Our Lady of Guadalupe (parade) - Leading to the Reenactment of the Apparitions of Our Lady and Presentation of Roses

  • 12:00PM: Holy Mass with His Excellency Most Reverend Bishop Daniel Thomas 

  • 1:30PM:   Lunch with entertainment in the gym

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration  marks the date in 1531 when the Virgin Mary purportedly appeared to an indigenous Mexican, in the last of several apparitions. To the present day, Our Lady of Guadalupe remains a powerful symbol of Mexican identity and faith, and her image is associated with everything from motherhood to feminism to social justice.

 

St. Patrick of Heatherdowns is a south Toledo Catholic Parish that is known as “A Place to Belong” because the church community embraces people of diverse backgrounds wherever they are on their journey to know Jesus Christ.
