Meet Christie Thorpe an artist and designed based in the Pacific Northwest. Art is, and always has been, my happy place. I enjoy a wide variety of media, including: sketching with pen and ink, pottery, and painting with watercolor, oil, and especially acrylic.

Growing up my parents would always say "it's the little things in life". Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, the incredible beauty of our local geography and natural landscapes, as well as patterns and textures found in nature, never cease to inspire me. Just ask my friends and family; if I were to give a TedTalk, it would be about the connection between humans and nature.

This connection between humans and nature is so strong that it has measurable physiological impacts. For me, when I experience the awe of nature, I have to paint it. These "little" moments of beauty in nature are my muse.

I adore working with full saturation and celebrating bright and bold colors in my works. To me, color represents joy. There are few things that bring me more joy than painting the beautiful world around us.

“A creative life is an amplified life. It’s a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life. Living in this manner—continually and stubbornly bringing forth the jewels that are hidden within you—is a fine art, in and of itself.”

― Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear"
