Two friends take their troubled buddy on a backpacking trip to California’s legendary Mount Shasta to help him heal, but when he turns the outing into a hallucinogen-fueled mission to find an ancient alien race, their weekend spirals into psychedelic madness and a surreal quest for meaning. Shot on location in Mt. Shasta, from filmmaker & Portola native Jack Trout, The Lemurian Candidate is a psychedelic sci-fi buddy comedy that blends cult-film energy, alien conspiracy lore, and heartfelt friendship into one unforgettable trip.
