You are invited to join us at a 3-part series with USD 453. Dr. Kellen Adams will conduct community orientation briefings at the USD office.
Purpose of the Forum Series
The series goal is to foster “clear, fact-based information” and build “shared understanding, not just deliver information.” Participants will hear directly from district leadership and can engage in conversation about the challenges and opportunities ahead. The focus of each is the following:
Forum 1 — Understanding the Landscape
Where We Stand: The Realities Shaping USD 453’s Budget
Forum 2 — Exploring Options and Tradeoffs
Responsible Choices: Aligning Resources with Student Needs
Forum 3 — The Plan and the Path Ahead
Forging the Future: Decisions, Commitments, and Community Partnership
Why This Conversation Matters
The district emphasizes that “strong schools are a cornerstone of economic development and workforce preparation. This is part of workforce development, so business leaders should participate.” As Leavenworth’s education, business, and civic sectors continue to align around long-term community prosperity, these forums offer a space to understand how school decisions affect the broader region. The district notes, “the conversation is not only about challenges—it is about identifying pathways forward.”

USD 453 encourages broad participation, noting that “residents, business leaders, parents, and stakeholders are encouraged to attend and help shape the future of education in our community.”
