Event Description

The JewelRide Books for Bikes Spring Reading Challenge will run from March 1 - April 15th, 2026.

How the Challenge Works
  1. Children in K-8th Grade are eligible to participate in this challenge.
  2. As you spend time reading, you will earn chances to win a free bike!
  3. Begin reading and logging on March 1. You will be able to participate online with Beanstack or with a paper reading log available at the library or to print from home.
  4. Every 30 minutes spent reading will move you along your path to victory.
  5. The Challenge ends on April 15, and all reading must be logged and turned in to the library by 8pm on this day.
  6. The raffle for the free bikes will be on Saturday, April 18th at 10am. Attendance is not required to win.

Beanstack Account

  • Visit our Beanstack website. Click the "register" button if you need to create an account, or click the "sign in" button to access your existing account.
  • Alternatively, use the Beanstack Tracker App on your phone or other mobile devices (apple | android) to create, sign in, and manage your account.
  • Within one account, you can set up and manage reader profiles for all of your family members!
  • Choose the Books for Bikes Challenge to enroll.
  • Log the time that you spend reading into your Beanstack account. You will see virtual badges appear for every 30 minutes logged.
  • Every 5th badge earned will automatically enter your name into the bike raffle.
  • If you earn 20 badges, your name will be in the raffle 4 times!
  • You can get bonus entries for continuing to log your time reading. Every bonus badge earned (i.e. additional 30 minutes logged) will enter your name another time, for a possible total of 16 entries.
  • You do not have to complete all badges for the chance to win.
  • All reading logs must be turned in to the library by April 15th at 8pm to qualify.
  • Only books read between March 1 & April 15, 2026 count toward the challenge.

While logging book titles or number of books won't earn badges for this challenge, we recommend still logging this information on the books you read to keep track of your achievements!

Paper reading logs are also available at the Youth Circulation Desk.

  • If you would prefer to participate with paper logs than online, you can ask for one at the Youth Desk or print one from this page at home.
  • Write your name, grade, and phone number on your log.
  • Mark a numbered space on your game board for every 30 minutes you spend reading. Every 5th space marked will enter your name into the raffle.
  • If you get through the 20th space, your name will be in the raffle 4 times!
  • You can get bonus entries for continuing to log your time reading. Every bonus space marked (i.e. additional 30 minutes logged) will enter your name another time, for a possible total of 16 entries.
  • Once you are ready to return your reading log, bring it to the Youth Desk at the library to guarantee entry into the bike raffle.
  • You do not have to complete the entire reading log to turn it in.
  • All reading logs must be turned in to the library by April 15th at 8pm to qualify.
  • Only books read between March 1 & April 15, 2026 count toward the challenge.

Please write the total number of books you read in the space provided. While logging book titles or number of books won't earn badges for this challenge, we recommend still logging this information on the books you read to keep track of your achievements!
