Third Thursday with Kevin Bell
Date/Time
4/16/2026
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Mountain
Event Description
The Missoula Art Museum invites you to our April Third Thursday, featuring an artist talk with exhibiting artist Kevin Bell. Join us from 5–7 pm for an evening of art, music, and artist talk with Bell at 5:30 pm to discuss his work.

Bell, Professor of Art at the University of Montana, brings an internationally exhibited practice rooted in the landscape traditions of the American West and in questioning them. His paintings revisit the heroic perspectives of awe and discovery historically projected onto Western land, probing how legacies of Manifest Destiny and colonialism continue to shape our relationship to place. Drawing on research, personal visitation, and layers of collective memory, Bell's canvases become spaces for reflection on our contemporary experience of the land around us, oscillating between idealism and irony, with environmental and social concern at the fore. Third Thursday is free and open to the public. Come early, stay late, and bring a friend.
