Ashley Van Roekel’s career path is a powerful example of how purpose, curiosity, and a willingness to contribute can open unexpected doors. Getting her start managing events after graduating from Dordt University and later moving to mentoring under the former president of American Investment & Trust, Ashley’s journey has been shaped by a passion for helping people and a commitment to continuous learning. Today, as 2nd Vice President, she serves on the firm’s leadership team, leads their operations department, directs their new advisor mentorship and training program, and has helped the firm grow to over $1.5 billion in assets under management.

In this Women in Business session, Ashley will share how her career developed not through a rigid plan, but through embracing opportunities, using her strengths to help others, and showing up ready to learn. Drawing from experiences that range from coaching young female athletes to building trust within professional teams, she will reflect on the mindset that helped her grow into an “organic leader”—someone who adds value wherever she is and earns respect by working alongside others.

Attendees will leave inspired by Ashley’s belief that you can truly bloom wherever you are planted. Through practical insights and personal stories, she will encourage women to lean into their gifts, remain curious, and focus on contributing meaningfully in the roles they hold today—discovering that thriving in the present often creates the path to future leadership.
