Ananda Academy of Dance is offering social dance classes in Conifer at the Aspen Park Community Center. All of these classes are created for beginning level students. We'll be teaching basic dance patterns, how to lead and follow, how to hear the rhythm of the music, and many other fundamentals and social dancing techniques. If you've always wanted to dance, and especially if you never thought you could, then these are the classes for you! Go to our online store, register for classes, and come Dance Your Bliss!

Details:
Each 4-week group class includes forty-five minutes of dancing taught by a nationally certified, profession dance instructor. The fee for each group class is $55/person. A $5/class discount is offered to students who enroll in two or more classes.

No previous dance experience is necessary. And no dance partner is required either.

We're often asked what students should wear to our dance classes. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Casual attire is welcome. Men should wear shoes that allow them to move and turn without sticking to the dance floor. This means shoes with a rubber sole, such as tennis shoes, sandals, and work boots probably aren't the best for dancing. The same for the ladies. Since the ladies are typically moving backwards, it is good to wear a shoe with some kind of heel. Nothing too high or crazy. And a shoe with a strap which goes across the arch of the foot is even better because the strap will prevent your shoes from popping off as you are stepping backwards. It's also a polite gesture to wear a shirt or blouse with some kind of sleeve. The idea is to cover your arm pits because dancers can get pretty sweaty. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable. Because dancing is more intimate than most other social activities, personal hygiene is always a good idea. Using deodorant and doing a quick teeth cleaning (or using breath mints) makes things more pleasant for everyone.
