Book Discussion of Marcher, Walker, Pilgrim by Ed Fallon
Community Event Art Performances & Education Calendar
The Luther College Center for Ethics and Public Engagement and the Northeast Iowa Peace and Justice Center are sponsoring two book discussions of Marcher, Walker, Pilgrim, by Ed Fallon.
The book describes an eight-month odyssey from L.A. to D.C., where dozens of marchers become a mobile village, sounding the alarm about our climate crisis. How they worked together, butted heads, solved conflicts, risked their lives, and ultimately stayed true to their goal makes for an exciting, multi-layered tale.
Luther College - Olin Building 700 College Drive Decorah, IA 52101
The book discussions will be led by Julie Fischer and will focus on layers of experience: organizational, mission, personal and interpersonal. What motivates a person to take on such a challenging feat? What keeps Ed going when he discovers how hard it will be to complete the march, both physically and emotionally? What can we, as citizens, learn from this march for climate awareness and behavioral change?
