Details:
Haines City’s 11th annual BBQ competition, Ribs on the Ridge, sanctioned by Florida BBQ Association will be held on February 22, 2019 from 5 PM to 9 PM and February 23, 2019 from 10 AM to 5 PM. This event is FREE to the public. This year's event will benefit KidsPACK, an organization that feeds food insecure children in and around Polk County. Musical acts include: national recording country artist Craig Cambell and local superstar Kenzie Wheeler. Enjoy live entertainment throughout the event as well as food and crafts vendors. Ribs on the Ridge also draws barbecue teams from across Florida and the nation. Professional and amateur teams compete for cash prizes, trophies, and bragging rights.

The Chamber office is a drop-off location for kidsPACK - kidsPACK is dedicated to feeding disadvantaged children; giving them a backpack of nutritious food each Friday to sustain them on weekends when they don't have access to school meals. Please donate food items such as pop-tarts, fruit cups, peel lid raviolis, non-refrigerated juice/milk boxes, granola bars, nuts, snack crackers, etc.. (non-perishable items that can be easily opened and don't require preparation to consume). Donations will benefit local school children.
