MULTI CHAMBERS & CITIES JOIN FORCES TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL SENIOR HEALTH AND FITNESS DAY MAY 22, 2019

The North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and City of North Miami Beach in partnership with the North Miami Chamber and the City of North Miami will jointly be holding a free Senior Health & Fitness Fair on May 22 from 9 am to 12 noon at the Joe Celestine Center, 1525 NW 135th St in North Miami.
The event has been designated as an official health fair for the National Senior Health and Fitness Day and will feature FREE medical screenings, FREE Exercise classes, medical talks, and will have over 45 health and wellness vendors.
The event will also feature free entertainment and light refreshments.
Admission to the health fair is FREE of charge.
Vendors will be providing information of interest to seniors and will also be providing raffle prizes to be drawn throughout the morning.

Event is completely free for seniors and their families.
FREE attendance, FREE give away items and some great FREE raffle prizes during the morning supplied by Vendors.
Free medical screenings will be offered including, but not limited to:

blood pressure, Blood glucose, cholesterol, physical therapy, memory screening, poison prevention strategies, fall prevention strategies
Vendors include Jackson North, Miami Jewish Health, Mt Sinai, Plaza Health Network, Chen Medical, Elite Health - all major health care providers in the community will be there - among many, many other vendors
Exercises Classes are provided during the health fair.
Great Opportunity for Seniors: to get hear medical updates; get free medical screenings; and some great referrals for resources.Both cities - NMB and NM will be providing transportation for seniors to the health fair. Call the local parks and recreation departments of the city for more information
Important Discussions by Vendors and Speakers addressing key issues facing seniors - health related; Elder attorneys will present talks about qualifying for Medicaid assistance with payment for Assisted Living and Memory Care; home health agencies to talk about services they can offer seniors in the home; day care opportunities for adults with medical and/or dementia issues who wish to live at home but need safety, care and stimulation during the day
Health Fair will address additional important issues that seniors are coping with including dementia, balance and physical therapy, health care services for seniors living at home as well as information for seniors needing to move into an assisted living or memory care facility
Both cities realize the importance of keeping their senior citizens physically and mentally fit and have done proclamations urging citizens to attend the health fair and commending the chambers for organizing the effort.
