The event is free and open to the public. The North Dakota-Manitoba District of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions is a prestigious opera competition for young, aspiring opera singers. The singers each perform two opera arias for the audience and three internationally known expert judges. Audience members who attend the entire concert can vote for teh Audience Choice Award. The Awards Ceremony and announcement of the winners will follow the competition/concert.

The purpose of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions is to discover exceptional young talent and provide a venue for young opera singers across North America at all levels of development to be heard by representatives of the Metropolitan Opera and to assist those with the greatest potential for operatic careers.
