Description:
Nebraska Shakespeare will present "Othello" at the Sun Theatre on Friday, October 18 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door. Students get in free. The event is made possible in part by a grant from the Nebraska Arts Council.
- Shakespeare On Tour adapts Shakespeare's plays into 75-minute productions. Each professionally acted and designed performance concludes with a post-show discussion with the company to allow further critical thinking about Shakespeare and his works.
- A beautiful and complex tragedy, Othello investigates how arrogance, discrimination, and mistrust can dissolve the strongest bonds of love when the Moorish General Othello is made to believe that her new husband Desdemonan has been carrying on an affair with her Lieutenant Michael Cassio, when in reality, it is all part of the scheme of the bitter Iago.
