Rural Idaho in Change

The Burley Public Library invites you to Rural Idaho in Change a one-day summit to discuss topics critical to our rural communities.  This free event, in partnership with the Idaho Humanities Council, will be held on Thursday, November 7th from 9am to 4pm at Morey’s Event Center in Burley.  The registration link is https://forms.gle/1TxvpTfK4ig7vUbd6. The summit is in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institution exhibit Crossroads: Change in Rural America currently held at the Burley Public Library.

 

Dr. Russell Tremayne will moderate and the luncheon speaker will be Jim Jones, former Chief Justice of the Idaho Supreme Court.  The no-cost lunch, continental breakfast and afternoon break are hosted by the Idaho Dairymen Association along with Friends of and the Foundation of the Burley Public Library

 

“Despite the massive economic and demographic impacts to rural Idaho brought on by social changes in the last century, Idahoans take on the challenge.  They are revitalizing rural places and embracing a bright future.”  Rural Idaho in Change will engage participants in a rich and exciting discussion to include history, education today, rural health care, diversity, and agriculture at the crossroads.
