Throughout her life, Hosmer challenged 19th century expectations for women. She traveled the wilderness of the American west on her own, studied anatomy at a time when it was deemed unsuitable for women, and later in life lobbied for women’s right to vote. Hosmer's creations are still displayed at some of the world's most famous museums, libraries, and parks today.
This free author event will take place in the Decorah Public Library's Mezzanine. Call the library at 563-382-3717 for more information.
