The time and location for our County Convention has been set!  All eligible voters (see eligibility requirements below) are invited to join your County Democratic Party Chair for this Convention in preparation for our State Party convention March 21 in Lansing.

Our convention will be held at the Branch District Library - Coldwater third floor conference room.  The meeting will begin promptly at 12:30PM on Saturday February 22.    The library is located at the corner of Chicago and Division Streets in downtown Coldwater.  Please bring a photo ID with you as attendance will be taken and recorded.  I do not anticipate a lengthy meeting (60 - 90 minutes) but this will depend upon whether or not participants bring proposed resolutions for discussion and voting.

The purpose of the County Convention will be to:  1) Consider & draft resolutions to be submitted to the State Party; and, 2) Select individuals to fill the suggested allocated seats on the Rules, Resolutions, and Credentialing committees of the State Party.

Eligibility:  (Article IV Sections B & C of the MDP Rules)  In order to vote at any Convention, Caucus, or meeting at any unit of the Michigan Democratic Party at any level, a person must be a member of the Michigan Democratic Party for at least thirty (30) days prior to that Convention, Caucus, or meeting.

Precinct Delegates, Democratic elected officials, and Democratic nominees to partisan offices are exempt from the thirty (30) days advance membership requirement.  However, Precinct Delegates, Democratic elected officials, and Democratic nominees to partisan office must be members in order to vote and may join the same day as the Convention, Caucus, or Meeting.
