City of Waukesha Chamber of Commerce - Event Information

Event Name:
EmPower Luncheon

Description:
Each year, like-minded individuals come together at The Women’s Center’s inspiring EmPower Luncheon to stand with survivors of interpersonal violence and to learn more about effective ways to build support and awareness. This year, we invite you to join us for a conversation about the realities and prevalence of human trafficking, an issue that been documented in every single county of Wisconsin.

The Women's Center is proud to be part of a local team leading the efforts to prevent this crime. As a co-chair of the Waukesha County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force and the county's oldest resource supporting survivors of this traumatic experience, we hope you join us to hear from another leader in this fight: Cindy McCain, Chairman of the Board of the McCain Institute, and our 2020 Empower Luncheon keynote speaker.

As chair of the Institute’s Human Trafficking Advisory Council, Cindy leads its efforts to educate, raise awareness and implement action-based solutions to prevent and end modern slavery. The McCain Institute, inspired by and named after the late Senator John McCain, seeks to advance leadership based on security, economic opportunity, freedom, and human dignity, in the United States and around the world.
