Photovoltaic (PV) is electrical energy from the sun. This course is an introduction to the fundamentals associated with Photovoltaic systems. Topics cover PV market analysis, the solar resource, electrical PV principles, solar module fundamentals, system components, types of systems, site assessment, system applications, energy production analysis, and best practice code compliant practices including mounting, wiring, and interconnecting systems to the utility. Anyone interested in knowing more about the solar industry or anyone working in fields associated with solar energy will benefit from this course. 60 theory hours.
 
*This course fulfills the eligibility requirements to take NABCEP’s Photovoltaic Associate Exam. The exam is administered by CNMI's Industry Testing Center. Participants who wish to take the exam will receive more information from the instructor. The exam fee is not included in the price of the course.

Details:
Participants can take this online class from anywhere. Weekly live sessions take place Monday evenings from 7 to 8 PM. The City of Albuquerque's Economic Development Dept. has funding available through its JTA program that will cover the cost for certain small businesses headquartered within city limits. The price of the training for others is $819.
