Take a Walk on the Wild Side with this monthly series of true nature walks. In June, we will hike along the Rapphannock River and focus on the wildlife and plants at Belle Isle State Park. Local volunteer naturalists will share a variety of natural history topics, point out aspects of the park's many habitats (ideal for plant and animal life viewing), and provide participants with nature-photography tips should they need assistance. The walk will be conducted at a leisurely pace to allow stops along the way to observe and discuss seasonal aspects of what is happening at the park. Be sure to dress for the weather, wear closed toe shoes appropriate for walking, and bring a water bottle. For more information or to find out where to meet for this month's hike, call the park at 804-462-5030. Pre-registration is required.
