The NAACP Butte County Branch 1029 hosts 2nd NAACP Black & White Gala & Awards Dinner Event. Come enjoy an evening of fine dining and entertainment at the Oroville Southside Community Center. The Black Tie program theme is Removing Barriers and Moving Forward.

The evening will include:

  • Dinner catered by Chef Lance Thomas
  • Music by Louis Pettinelli
  • Guest Speaker Dr. Rev. David Isom, Vice President of the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School Board
  • Raffle prizes
Community Award Presentations in 3 categories:
  • Excellence in Education (Honoree, Dr. John Rivers: Ret. Administrator and Educator)
  • Excellence in Community, Social Justice & Advocacy Award (Honoree, William Bynum: Community Activist)
  • Excellence in Community Grants & Scholarships Funding Award (Honoree, Alexa Benson-Valavanis: North Valley Community Foundation)
All funds raised will support the NAACP's mission to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of all persons.
