Welcome to NAMI Northeastern Nevada, a dedicated affiliate of NAMI Nevada. At NAMI Northeastern Nevada, we are committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals affected by mental illnesses. Our mission revolves around providing education, support, and advocacy to empower those grappling with mental health challenges. Aligned with the state organization, we actively support and nurture local affiliates while addressing the diverse needs of our membership.
Our goals extend beyond local boundaries as we advocate at the county, state, and national levels for non-discriminatory access to quality healthcare, housing, education, and employment for individuals with mental illness. Through public education initiatives, we strive to increase awareness and understanding of mental health issues, working diligently to eliminate the pervasive stigma associated with mental illness.
Furthermore, our commitment to advancing research is evident in our advocacy for increased funding to explore the causes and treatment of mental illness. At NAMI Northeastern Nevada, we envision a future where mental illness does not hinder one's potential, and through early interventions and targeted support, we aspire to eradicate pervasive disabilities. Ultimately, our vision includes a day when prevention or a cure for mental illness is discovered.
