Glenwood Lakes Area Newcomers Group UPDATES Battle of the Businesses Bowling Tournament Newcomers Interested in bowling consider joining us for The Battle of the Businesses Bowling Tournament scheduled for Sunday, November 17th at 2:00 p.m. (note time change from 4:00 p.m.) We can have some Newcomer Teams - Let Kay know if you're interested and she will sign you up. Teams are $140 and Individuals $35.00 The fee covers three games and shoes. It's a fun afternoon and a good way to meet other community members. Pickleball Update Pickleball will be available to play indoors on Sundays, beginning October 13, 2019 through May 3, 2020 in the Auxiliary gym at Minnewaska High School from 12:30-2:30 p.m. You may use the schools nets, paddles and balls.
For more information, watch for your Minnewaska Messenger in the mail, or call 320-239-1305 for directions to the gym and punch card payment. There will be no cash payment available.
Did you sign up for a Special Interest Group?? Are you interested in being a Group Starter?
We need some Group Starters for the Glenwood Lakes Area Newcomers Specific Interest Groups. Group starters will get the specific group together for the first time. Emails and phone numbers will be given to the Group Starter. All you have to do is plan the date, time and place for that first get together. Then as a group you will plan when you want to meet again.

Magical Christmas in Glenwood Sponsorship Registration It’s that time of year again! The Glenwood Lakes Area Welcome Center is seeking sponsors for this year’s Magical Christmas in Glenwood celebration.
ALL activities are FREE and open to the public during this time of year, but without the support of local area businesses, organizations, families and individuals, we cannot offer all that we do.
The Glenwood Lakes Area Welcome Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. No goods or services are provided to the sponsors in exchange for their financial donations.
In order to receive the tax-deduction receipt, checks must be made out to the Glenwood Lakes Area Welcome Center.
Holiday Market Vendors will be allowed to sell/showcase their products and/or services during regular banking hours. There is only room for 12 vendors.
Set up is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. prior to the bank opening. Tear down will be scheduled at 5:00 p.m on Friday. To register go to our website and register for the Magical Christmas in Glenwood Holiday Market.
Lighted Holiday Parade Be creative and make this Magical Christmas in Glenwood Lighted Holiday Parade something fun and enjoyable for your team members and the entire community! Lighted entries can include lights, candles, flashlights, glow sticks, etc.
All entries are judged along the parade route for the "Best Holiday Spirit" Traveling Trophy! November Rise & Shine Friday, November 22nd Host: CF Industries Location: Glenwood Chamber and Welcome Center 7 1st Street NW, Glenwood, MN 56334

CF Industries will host the November Rise and Shine at the Glenwood Chamber and Welcome Center. Come and meet staff and learn more about this business!
Bring a friend, meet and socialize with others, and enjoy a light breakfast. Remember your business card for the business card door prize drawing. Rise and Shine hosts for 2020 are needed! Contact the Chamber office for more information on becoming a host!

MAHS to Host 14th Annual Veterans Appreciation Program - November 11th
MAS to Host 14th Annual Veterans Appreciation Program on November 11. The event will start with a special veteran’s lunch, sponsored by Palmer Bus Service, in the MAHS cafeteria at 11 a.m. Spouses of veterans are welcome to attend. For veterans arriving before the program, there will be a reception area set up in the auditorium and students will be available to direct and escort veterans to the areas designated for them. Veterans are asked to park on the west end of the main parking area and enter the building through the District Office entrance (Door 1).

Mobile Food Drop
Pope County Mobile Food Drop -Tuesday, November 12, 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Glenwood United Parish, 10 17th Avenue NW, Glenwood. Distribution of food begins at 12:00 p.m., registration begins at 11:00 a.m. At registration you receive a number that coordinates with your spot in line. The Mobile Food Drop is a monthly food distribution event. Anyone who eats and lives in Pope County is able to utilize this program. Bring boxes to carry your food. This monthly event is made possible by the United Way of Pope and Douglas counties.
Jingle Bells Telethon Auditions
Jingle Bells Telethon Auditions November 10 & 17 - Auditions are set for the 71st annual Jingle Bells Telethon at the Lake Geneva Christian Center in Alexandria on Sunday, November 10 from 3-6 p.m. and Sunday, November 17 from 3-6 p.m.

The telethon will be held on Sunday, December 7 at 5 p.m. at the Lake Geneva Christian Center in Alexandria.
