Pickleball Pickleball will be available to play indoors on Sundays through May 3, 2020 in the Auxiliary gym at Minnewaska High School from 12:30-2:30 p.m. You may use the schools nets, paddles and balls.

REGISTRATION: 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. No REGISTRATION after 11 AM. NO REFUNDS AT ANY TIME. HOT LAPS: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
DRIVERS MEETING AT 11:30 AM
RACES BEGIN AT 12:00 NOON ROGER EBERT SPORTSMANSHIP BALLOTS DUE 30 minutes after Last Race.
AWARDS CEREMONY - AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOLLOWING END OF LAST RACE
ALL RACERS PLEASE WATCH YOUR RACE SCHEDULE SO YOU WILL BE READY WHEN YOUR RACE IS SET TO GO.
RACE FEES REDUCED FOR 2020
Each participant will pay $30 to enter their first race and each additional race will be $ 5/Race. Example: A Racer who enters 5 races will pay $30 for their first race and $ 5 each race for their four additional races for a total of $20 for the four races and $ 30 for their first race for a grand Total of $50 for all of their races. The Payout will go to the top three winners in each class. Specialty Classes do not earn points or payouts but do receive trophies. Specialty fees are $15 for their first race and $5 for each additional race they enter. Regular registration will be from 8 AM to 10 AM and late registration will be available from 10 AM to 11 AM to encourage people to register early so the racing lineup may be finalized in a timely manner. There is a $30 Fee for Late Registration.
AWARDING THE HETTEEN CUP & PURSE of $ 1,500
The purpose of the Main Event and the Hetteen Cup Championship in Glenwood is to promote all vintage racing and snowmobiling. The winner of the Cup will be the best racer at The Main Event determined on a Point Basis the races which are designated as Hetteen races. The Hetteen Cup and Cash Purse will be awarded to the driver with the highest point totals from their top THREE PAYOUT classes. Points will be awarded as follows: 1st = 15pts, 2nd = 10pts, 3rd = 5pts. If you finish first in two races and third in another race you will have 30 points (for the first two first place finishes) and 10 points for the third place finish for a total of 40 Points.

THE ROGER EBERT MEMORIAL AWARD FOR SPORTSMANSHIP
The Roger Ebert Memorial Award is given as a Sportsmanship Award. Upon registration, each racer will be given a ballot which they will be asked to turn into the registration desk no later than 30 minutes following the final race. The winner of the Award will be the individual with the highest number of votes as recognized by the racers participating in the Hetteen Cup Championship Vintage Race.

For every bag full of needed items, you will receive $10 off a Pope County Tribune yearly subscription OR, if you would prefer to make a donation of $10.00 to the food shelf you will also receive $10 off a subscription.
Donations must be made at the Pope County Tribune Office. .

Community Announcements Pope County Mobile Food Drop The next Mobile Food Drop will be held on Tuesday, March 10, at Glenwood United Parish, 10 17th Ave NW, Glenwood. Registration is at 11 a.m. and food distribution is from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Please bring boxes to carry your food.
The Mobile Food Drop is a monthly food distribution event. Anyone who eats and lives in Pope County is able to utilize this program.
This monthly event is made possible by the United Way of Pope and Douglas Counties.
“Catch a Cure” loaded Baked Potato Bar and Silent Auction, a Relay for Life Fundraiser, will be held on Wednesday, March 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Glacial Ridge Hospital Common Ground Café and Glacial Room. Auction opens on Monday, March 2, and closes at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4. Cash and checks only, payable to American Cancer Society.
