New Contest at the Fair

In this Olympic year, competition takes on a whole new look.

This is your chance to compete on an international level at the Plumas Sierra County Fair by signing up for the annual "International Donut Eating Contest" on Friday evening of the fair at 7:45pm.

This dramatic contest pits average Americans against one another in a quest to jam a dozen mini donuts in their mouths and swallow them within one minute.

YOU can be part of it, but you must act quickly! There are only 12 spots available.

You can reserve your position by contacting the fair office and we will put your name in the (donut) ring.

Only serious contenders please; if you sign up and then chicken out at the last minute, we will roundly boo you!   But then, we will easily find someone to take your place.

What do you win, besides a mouthful of donuts? A serious piece of acknowledgement hardware in the form of this trophy, as well as the eternal admiration of your neighbors.

See you at the fair!

Donation Drive at Les Schwab / Curran Tire Center

Curran Tire Center (Les Schwab Quincy) and Price Tire Center (Les Schwab Portola) are leading a donation drive to support the education of Plumas County students. This year, Curran Tire Center will serve as a headquarters for backpack and school supply donations, ensuring that local students have the tools they need to succeed.

Community members can participate by bringing their donations to Curran Tire Center, 116 E Main St, Quincy or Price Tire Center at 73816 S Delleker Rd, Portola. The collected supplies will be distributed throughout local schools, making sure every student across the county is prepared for the school year ahead.

We're proud to be a part of our connected communities. Thank you to our local Les Schwab tire centers for supporting Plumas County students!
