August 7th marked the Inaugural Women's Networking Group luncheon sponsored by Laclede Groves held at Cyrano's Cafe. What started as a conversation quickly grew into a movement. Our initial thought was 'let's organize an event and see if we get any interest. Maybe we'll attract 20 or so women.' Low and behold we drew 52 powerful women sparking an exciting energetic networking event. The exchange of information was electric thanks to a special presentation by the St. Louis Small Business Association. The success of our inaugural luncheon will continue on the first Wednesday of each month.

President's Message

I hope you enjoyed a nice, relaxing summer. If you've attended any of the Chamber events in these past few months, I think you'll agree the Chamber is more vibrant and relevant today than perhaps any time in recent memory. We're seeing our old friends seeking new connections as well as lots of new faces adding to the energy of change. We've welcomed 38 new members bring our total to 280. Each event continues to attract stronger membership engagement. We're seeing more and more members line up to host and sponsor networking events. Our next major event is the annual golf scramble on September 30th which is set to be extra special with former Cardinal pitcher Cal Eldred spending the day with us and helping emcee our awards reception. Thanks for your support of the Chamber, I am Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Adding a little to Jake's message I can only say how very happy I am to be a part of such a great culture.

With six months in residence, I can declare I am no longer new! I continue to gain more and more insight and experience with every member interaction. It is truly a privilege to meet with members one-on-one and dive into a variety of business topics ranging from challenges to successes and everything in between. We're thrilled to kick off the first Women's Networking Group, a monthly luncheon dedicated to delivering tools to help women grow and prosper. In just two short years the Chamber will be celebrating its ninetieth birthday. Founded in 1937 our mission continues to support our business communities by providing added value and resources to enhance personal growth, networking and charitable giving.

What a wonderful summer it was. Chamber events captured below include: The Annual Membership Appreciation Picnic held in July, hosted by the City of Webster Groves. Rock Hill May Happy Hour celebrating Mayor Edward Mahan and the City of Rock Hill. Elected Officials June Luncheon sponsored by Sunrise Senior Living and Aging Gracefully saw more than 50 members featuring elected representative from all FOUR communities. Webster Groves Business Development Commission sponsored a record turnout August Happy Hour. Coffee & Connections welcomed the City of Brentwood sponsored by Vitality Unlimited Spa.

In July over 30 members enjoyed a great networking Coffee hosted by Time for Dinner.
