Check out this new grant opportunity called the Business Builder grant recently announced by the USDA through the Heartland Regional Food Business Center.  The grant will support local and regional food enterprises across the supply chain, from suppliers to buyers.  This program is designed to promote business expansion, job creation, business capacity building, and increase local products in the local market throughout the Heartland Region, including Kansas.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have an exciting opportunity for a member of our community! We are looking to fill our member at large board position, for the remainder of the term, through May of 2026! Our volunteer board is responsible for overseeing policies and supporting our programs and events. Must be available to meet at 6pm on the 2nd Wednesday of each month and must live within the USD 290 School District! We want you to help see the vision for the future for the ORC!! Westminster Presbyterian Church is looking for someone to join our team as a youth director. The Youth Director will provide leadership to the middle and senior high school youth, encourage a deepening love for God, and foster growth in the Christian faith. Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) is seeking an individual for a part-time position to serve as our Finance Manager. This is a hybrid position which would allow this person to work from home and would require 10-15 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Music Director

Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) is seeking an energetic and innovative individual to serve as our Music Director. This dynamic individual would need to skills to implement a more “blended” musical worship experience due to a very diverse demographic in our congregation. This is a part-time position at approximately 5-10 per week. Salary is commensurate with experience. WHAT IS THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE?

 

A non-profit organization, comprised of more than 300 businesses, organizations, professionals and individuals.

A voice for businesses and the citizens of the Ottawa/Franklin County area in internal affairs as well as external affairs.

Promotes civic, commercial, industrial, agricultural and professional development.

An Ambassador for our community for economic development at the state and regional levels.

A sounding board for entrepreneurial ideas and a referral source within the network.

 

HOW IS THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FINANCED?

 

The Chamber is funded from a variety of sources. One, being voluntary member investments based on a fee schedule, another being performing contract services for the city and county, and finally through industry grants and donations throughout the year. Additional non-dues income is realized by a program of marketing tools offered to Chamber members at various times throughout the year as well as committee activities and other sponsorships. Investments are tax deductible and recognized by the IRS as a legitimate business expense, not as a charitable contribution.

 

 

OBJECTIVES OF THE CHAMBER

 

To coordinate the efforts of commerce, industry and professionals in maintaining and strengthening a sound and healthy business climate in the Ottawa/Franklin County area.

To sponsor aggressive programs of work and stimulate activities, which will provide for full development and employment of our human and economic resources.

To provide creative business leadership and effective coordination of all interested parties in solving community problems and in initiating constructive community action.

To create broad understanding and appreciation of the great opportunities in the Ottawa/Franklin County area and

To promote the advantages and assets of our community, within the area, in the state and in the nation.
